PLEASANTON, Neb. (KSNB) - Pleasanton Public Schools is holding a groundbreaking ceremony on Thursday as the school prepares to start work on a new addition.

Earlier this year, voters approved an $11 million bond to create more space and upgrade learning environments.

The event is expected to begin at 8:30 a.m. at the elementary playground. Following the brief ceremony they will break ground and serve up some treats for community members in attendance.

Pleasanton Public Schools said the project addresses space concerns that the board has been discussing for several years with enrollment numbers climbing.
