New Jersey State Police officers arrested two people in Warren County during a traffic stop, where troopers seized more than $48 million worth of marijuana, THC and THC/cannabis products.

Vethanayagam Venches, 45, and Mohamed Nawshad, 48, both of Irving, Texas, were arrested during a Sept. 10 traffic stop, state police said .

The two were charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of a controlled dangerous substance and conspiracy.

The Mobile Safe Freight Unit conducted a commercial vehicle inspection on I-78 east in Greenwich Township and detected the odor of marijuana along with indicators of trafficking activity, police said.
