The forward is one of five players who were acquitted of sexual assault charges stemming from an incident in London, Ont. in 2018, when they were members of Canada’s world junior team. He, along with the four others, is eligible to sign a contract with an NHL team on Oct. 15 and take part in games on Dec. 1. Article content Article content

Dube last played in the NHL in January 2024 before leaving the Flames shortly before charges were laid. His contract was allowed to expire and the 27-year-old is currently a free agent.

Dube was the Flames’ second-round pick in the 2016 NHL Draft and played all 325 games of his NHL career with the organization.
