CLEVELAND, Ohio - A house fire, ignited by someone smoking on a porch, caused an estimated $100,000 in damage Tuesday in Cleveland’s North Collinwood neighborhood, officials said.
Cleveland firefighters responded just after 7 p.m. to a home on Darley Avenue near East 143rd Street, according to police.
The fire began on the first-floor porch of the 2.5-story, single-family home. It then spread to the second-floor porch and attic, said Lt. Mike Norman, a spokesman for Cleveland’s fire department.
The fire displaced two people, who received assistance from the American Red Cross.
No injuries were reported.
