BLACKSBURG, Va. (WDBJ) - The Blacksburg Tavern is among several buildings in Blacksburg that have been around for decades, but what makes it unique is sharing slices of history through it’s food.
“I really listen to the old house, and whatever choices the old house was making,” said Daniel Riley, owner of the Blacksburg Tavern.
Riley grew up in Blacksburg, and eventually moved away. When tragedy struck his hometown, he knew it was time to come back.
“When the Virginia Tech shooting happened, I thought, oh, well, that’s for sure. I’m going to move back to town now... That really just triggered some purpose in me that I wanted to make some contribution in my hometown,” said Riley.
That contribution is the Blacksburg Tavern. The tables, bar and kitchen fill the oldest house on Main Stree
