PATRICK COUNTY, Va. (WDBJ) - The Patrick County Sheriff’s Office has charged Harold Bradley Dalton, 57, with Use of Communications systems to Facilitate Certain Offenses Involving a Minor.

The Patrick County Sheriff’s Office was notified by the Southern Virginia Internet Crimes Against Children task force about inappropriate messages from an adult to a minor through Facebook Messenger on Sept. 16.

The Sheriff’s Office identified the suspect as Patrick County High School teacher Harold Bradley Dalton and the victim as a Patrick County High School student.

Dalton was arrested at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday and is being held without bond.

The department did not explain any more about the nature of the conversations, except to say they were “not solicited in any way by the minor.”
