Dale Lolley, a beloved and legendary reporter for the NFL’s Pittsburgh Steelers, has passed away at the age of 56.
On Wednesday, the Steelers broke the tragic news of Dale Lolley’s passing. The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown graduate, who was two months shy of his 57th birthday, had covered the iconic NFL franchise since 1993.
Last year, Lolley announced on X/Twitter that he was diagnosed with mouth cancer and underwent surgery. On Aug. 9, Lolley wrote that he had “an extended stretch of pneumonia” and would return soon.
Via Bob Labriola of the Steelers team website, Dale Lolley’s career as a Steelers reporter began at DK Pittsburgh Sports. He also had positions at Steelers Digest (the football club’s official publication), Steelers Radio Network and Steelers Nation Radio.
