ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) - A former College Park code enforcer has filed a lawsuit against the city, claiming his efforts to push back against a corrupt councilmember cost him his job.
Jerry Silver says his firing violated the Georgia Whistleblower Act, which protects public employees who report wrongdoings from retaliation.
The suit, filed last Friday in Fulton County Superior Court, demands payment for Silver’s lost earnings and “mental anguish.”

According to the suit, Silver was fired because he wouldn’t participate in “the unlawful private agendas and vendettas” of College Park City Councilman Roderick Gay.
Silver alleges that around January 2024, Gay asked him to go on monthly ride-alongs through Ward 4 , the part of the city he represents. Durin
