VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. — We heard from them both Republican nominee for governor Winsome Earle-Sears, as well as Democratic nominee Abigail Spanberger on Wednesday, but in two different venues.

Earle-Sears hosted a press conference with sheriffs from across the commonwealth in Virginia Beach. It happened at the same time as the Virginia Sheriffs’ Association conference this week. It’s an event where several candidates running in this upcoming election got the chance to give their views on issues important to law enforcement.

Separate from that event today, Earle-Sears said her campaign plans to continue the conversation around issues like immigration, but most importantly, she said retention rates for sheriffs’ offices are a main priority for her campaign.
