BUFFALO, N.Y. — "The Outsiders," the hit Broadway show based on S.E. Hinton’s 1967 novel, is launching its national tour in Buffalo at Shea’s Performing Arts Center, bringing both cultural excitement and economic benefits to the city.

The production runs for eight performances and marks the first stop on its nationwide tour. But Buffalo’s role goes beyond hosting the performances. A local crew is “teching” the show — helping to build the set, assemble costumes, adjust lighting, and rehearse on stage before the tour continues.
