School dismissals were delayed in Southington on Wednesday afternoon as police tracked down a man wanted on multiple arrest warrants and parole violations.

Around 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, the Southington Police Department received information that 36-year-old Angel Luis Rivera Jr. was allegedly in the area of Darling Street. According to police, a protective order prohibited Rivera from being in this location.

Police said they were also aware that Rivera, who they believed to be possibly armed, had two active arrest warrants for failure to appear in court, had allegedly violated the conditions of release in connection with a separate family violence arrest earlier this month and had also allegedly removed his court-ordered GPS ankle monitoring device following his release after the init
