BOWLING GREEN, Ky . -This week’s WKU Player of the Week honor goes to Hilltopper goalkeeper Maddie Davis.
Davis recorded her first shutout of the season on senior night last Thursday in a 0-0 draw with Austin Peay.
The senior charted four saves against the Governors and now stands alone with the third most shutouts in WKU history with 15. Davis is also tied at fourth all-time with 142 saves on the Hill.
The Waterloo, Illinois, native has spent the entirety of her collegiate career at Western.
At the conclusion of the 2024 season, Davis was named the Conference USA Goalkeeper of the year.
It marked the first time in program history for a WKU player to earn the honor.
Davis and the Hilltoppers will be back in action this Sunday at home, opening conference play with Kennesaw State.
