The feds say immigration agents are arresting “the worst of the worst” during an aggressive deportation campaign that was launched earlier this month in the Chicago area.

President Donald Trump’s administration has named dozens of immigrants who have been swept up — along with some who were actually arrested in other states .

Some of those arrested here have violent criminal histories, including men respectively convicted of murder and sexually abusing a child. Others were previously deported from the country.

But the full scale of the operation remains unclear, and federal immigration officials won’t provide a full accounting of arrests. Meanwhile, a sense of fear, shock and confusion continues to hang over Chicago and the suburbs.
