WYLIE, Texas — After 14 years leading Wylie ISD, Superintendent David Vinson is closing this chapter of his career.
Wednesday marked his final day at the district, where he’s overseen major milestones and helped shape the lives of thousands of students and families.
“My time here has been… like no other,” Vinson said. “I’m grateful, and that’s why it’s so hard for me to close this chapter of my life.”
Since taking over in 2011, Vinson has guided Wylie ISD through steady growth and strong academic performance. In August, the district received the highest rating possible from the Texas Education Agency. Since the TEA began issuing letter grades in 2018, Wylie ISD has never earned less than an “A.”
Vinson also made a point to highlight other accomplishments that he says matter more.
