GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — She wrestles, beats champs and wins titles. At only nine years old, Kamora Manhart is hoping she will be named Youth Athlete of the Year.

She wrestles, does jiu-jitsu and plays football at Coopersville.

“I like to have fun … and I also like great sportsmanship,” Manhart said.

She won the MYWAY Girls State Championship and placed in the boys’ division in the same day, making history as her school’s first female state champ — something she says is one of her greatest accomplishments.

Her dad and supporter Jared Manhart said her courage is what makes her the perfect candidate for Youth Athlete of the Year.
