FORT WORTH, Texas — Megan Courtney thought she had found the perfect wedding venue when she booked Pinstripes in Fort Worth last year. The upscale bowling and dining establishment offered what she called "the best bang for our buck" for her upcoming nuptials.

“We were trying to have a nice wedding on a budget,” Courtney said.

But with just a month before her scheduled October wedding, Courtney discovered the venue she had booked for her reception had permanently closed after the company filed for bankruptcy .

"I came home, and I thought someone had passed away," said Scott Holmes, Courtney's fiancé. "She explained it through tears, and my stomach just sank."
