PINEHURST, Texas — Pinehurst city council members voted unanimously Tuesday night to appoint Robbie Hood as interim city administrator, following last week’s suspension of former interim administrator and police chief Stephen Stroud .

The decision was made after more than an hour and a half of closed-door deliberations. Stroud, who attended the meeting with his attorney, was called behind closed doors for discussion before the vote.

Stroud was suspended at the previous meeting after the Texas Municipal Police Association accused him of “union busting tactics” and violating the collective bargaining agreement. The association also raised concerns about his leadership and potential conflicts of interest while serving as both interim city administrator and police chief.
