MCCOOK, Neb. (KSNB) - Tennis ball-sized hail is what fell from the sky in Red Willow County Tuesday evening.
The storm was not quick either as it lingered in the air space above McCook for more than three hours. During that time it had dealt out damage to cars, trees, houses, basements and day-to-day schedules.
“They held the kids in school,” said Sheriff Kevin Darling of Red Willow County Sheriff Department. “It was pretty late before the kids got out of school. That was able to protect the students, but probably not their cars.”
Vehicles across McCook more than likely endured some damage, even for Wagner Ford. Their lot is unprotected from mother nature, and she did some damage to their cars, cracking a few windows and leaving dents on the hoods and roofs.
