AUGUSTA, Maine — In January, nearly 130 veterans were experiencing homelessness in Maine, according to Maine Housing's 2025 Point in Time Count .

To help reduce that number, veteran services organizations from across the state gathered Wednesday in Augusta to coordinate efforts through the No Homeless Veterans Initiative, a coalition of local and national groups aimed at ending veteran homelessness in Maine.

The initiative connects veterans to financial, medical, and employment support services and matches them with available housing units provided by landlord partners, according to its website.
