Priscilla Presley has opened up about the devastating loss of her daughter Lisa Marie Presley, describing it as the “second saddest day” of her life, following the day Elvis Presley died, Page Six reports.

“It was the second saddest day of my life, other than losing Elvis,” Priscilla, 80, told PEOPLE in an interview published Wednesday ahead of her upcoming memoir “Softly, As I Leave You: Life After Elvis.”

The memoir, set for release on Sept. 23, details Priscilla’s journey since the death of her famous ex-husband, who died of a heart attack in August 1977 at age 42.

Lisa Marie, Elvis’ and Priscilla’s only child, died in January 2023 at age 54 from complications related to a small bowel obstruction that developed after a previous bariatric surgery.
