ANGELINA COUNTY, Texas (KETK) -- A brush fire burned nearly 2 acres Wednesday afternoon along State Highway 103 West near Newman Cemetery Road in Angelina County.

The Hudson Volunteer Fire Department received the call shortly after 3 p.m. and arrived to find the fire spreading quickly. Firefighters used a brush truck and tanker to contain the blaze, spending several hours on the scene.

No injuries were reported, and officials stated that the fire is believed to have originated from an unattended burn pile.

Now, the Hudson Volunteer Fire Department is urging residents to use caution when burning. "If you are going to burn, please do not leave it unattended and always have a water source nearby,” the fire department said.
