MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - A Janesville man was charged with transporting a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Wisconsin said Wednesday.

Adam Gurney, 29, allegedly transported a child between 16 and 18-years-old from North Carolina to Wisconsin and planned to have sex.

If Gurney is found guilty, he faces anywhere from 10 years to life in prison.

The investigation was completed by the Janesville Police Department, Clay County, N.C. Sheriff’s Office and Cherokee, N.C. Police Department.
