DECATUR – Carroll took down its latest challenger Wednesday, sweeping Bellmont 3-0 (25-10, 25-18, 25-18) on the road to maintain its perfect record.

A month into the season, the defending Class 4A state champions are now 19-0 have yet to lose a set.

"I thought we definitely let the loudness of the gym get to us a little bit, got us a little bit hesitant and caused our players to doubt a little bit, but I also thought we did a great job of some other aspects," Carroll coach Pandy Sinish said. "I thought our blocking was really solid tonight when our servicing was a little more off than normal. I'm proud of the girls: As Bellmont started to scrap a little bit, they didn't let it rattle them, and they kept pushing through it."

Carroll made quick work of the first set, jumping out to a 14-6
