Scriba, N.Y. — All work has halted at the Novelis aluminum plant in Scriba after a large fire Tuesday night damaged the facility’s hot mill and roof, company officials said.

The company doesn’t have an estimate of how long it will take to reopen the plant at this time, Karen Judd, a Novelis spokesperson said Wednesday night.
