LOUISVILLE, Ky. —
A big change is coming to boys basketball in the state of Kentucky.
The Kentucky High School Athletic Association board of control voted Wednesday to implement a 35-second shot clock for varsity games.
The change will take effect at the start of the 2027-28 season.
By that time, at least 35 states will have a shot clock.
Teams that played in the Republic Bank LIT last season got a taste of that, as the tournament experimented with a shot clock.
