HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - The largest Hawaiian cultural celebration in the U.S. concludes this month with two of its most popular events.
The Aloha Festivals 71st annual Waikīkī Hoʻolauleʻa takes place Saturday, Sept. 20, on Kalākaua Avenue.
The block party will transform the iconic thoroughfare with dozens of booths showcasing Hawaii cuisine, crafts and culture, along with five entertainment stages featuring top local artists and award-winning hālau hula.
Traffic: 12 p.m. Partial closure of Kalākaua Avenue (mauka side); 2 p.m. Full closure of Kalākaua Avenue from Seaside to Lili‘uokalani Avenue.
Schedule: Vendors open at 4 p.m. with entertaining beginning at 6 p.m. The event concludes at 10 p.m.
