On this date in 1965, a Fargo couple, Don and Marilyn Scott, announced the opening of The Roundtable, a private teen nightclub with dancing, live bands, and a “Discoteen” night to provide local teenagers a safe place to socialize.

A young Fargo couple, with two pre-school children, has been bothered for some time that “there’s nothing to do” for teenagers around here, so they’ve done something about it.

They’re opening a teenage nightclub, called The Roundtable, in quarters formerly occupied by Vic’s Super Valu at 215 N. University Drive, where the Gold Bond Stamp Center occupies the front portion of the building. There’s a large parking lot adjacent.
