TUCSON, Ariz. (KVOA) - Senator Ruben Gallego has postponed his upcoming town halls in Tucson on September 23 and in Yuma on September 25 due to recent security threats.

Gallego emphasized the importance of condemning political violence and expressed gratitude to those involved in planning the events.

“I’m deeply grateful to everyone who helped plan these events and to the Arizonans who were ready to show up, but I do not want to put anyone's safety at risk,” said Gallego.

He affirmed his dedication to freedom of speech in the democratic process and stated, “Intimidation and violence cannot be allowed in our country,” Gallego said.
