In a rare show of unity in the Santa Fe mayoral race, all eight candidates dodged the second part of the last question of Wednesday evening's forum: Why are you the best choice for mayor, and who is your second choice?

"I'm your best choice, I ask for your vote, and I will never say who I'm going to vote for second," JoAnne Vigil Coppler said to a chorus of laughs.

City Councilor Michael Garcia said his second choice was an "unidentified write-in candidate." State Land Office Deputy Commissioner Tarin Nix offered that she'd love to have fellow candidate Oscar Rodriguez as her chief of staff.
