Amid conflicting state and federal guidance on the latest COVID-19 vaccines and shifting pharmacy policies, Applewhite said, "It's basically a shot in the dark right now of us just trying to do our best and guide people on the easiest way forward."

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices is scheduled to meet Thursday and Friday to discuss the latest formulation of the COVID-19 vaccine, as well as the birth dose of the hepatitis B vaccine and the measles, mumps, rubella and varicella vaccine.
