While a few decades ago, flying was way more expensive than traveling by train in most countries worldwide, it is now the complete opposite. In Europe, flying from one capital to another is often way cheaper than taking the train, so people continue to opt for this option. The same happens in the U.S., where Amtrak is only convenient for short-haul routes. Yet, at times, it remains quite an expensive service.
