Homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that left a man deceased Thursday night in Capitol Hill neighborhood.

At 9:32 p.m., dispatch received reports of a shooting in the 1500 block of 10th Avenue.

Police arrived and located a 26-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck. Officers provided aid until the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) arrived and the male was transported to Harborview Medical Center (HMC) in critical condition. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at HMC.

Officers determined the man was stopped northbound on 10th Avenue when he was shot.

Detectives from the Homicide Unit will be working to determine the circumstances that led up to the shooting.

No suspect in custody at this time.
