BBC viewers have been quick to heap praise on a suspenseful and captivating thriller, with many giving it a five-star rating. The Night Manager, which first aired in 2016, is an adaptation of John le Carré's 1993 novel of the same name.
The series revolves around Jonathan Pine, an ex-British soldier turned hotel night manager, who is enlisted by British intelligence to infiltrate the close-knit group of Richard Roper.
In order to expose the illegal arms trade run by the billionaire businessman, Pine goes undercover, assuming a false identity and risking everything to penetrate Roper's inner circle. However, in his pursuit of justice, Pine grapples with his own moral dilemmas as he realises that he must become a criminal himself, all while dealing with corrupt government officials.
