An Edinburgh social care worker failed to inform his employer after being convicted of driving under the influence.

Regulators said the matter showed a "disregard for the law and for the safety of others" and was a "particularly serious" breach of trust.

Kevin Dawson, a care worker at Community Integrated Care on Howden Hall Road, was convicted of an offence contrary to the Road Traffic Act 1988.

This involves driving or being in charge of a motor vehicle with alcohol concentration above prescribed limit.

He then failed to inform his employer of the conviction despite being aware he was required to, according to the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).
