Kevin Glaccum first saw “Falsettos” shortly after it opened on Broadway in 1992. As an openly gay artist living through the height of the AIDS pandemic, the musical’s themes of love and perseverance in dark times resonated deeply with him.

“The early nineties were a really challenging time for the gay community,” Glaccum told PGN in a recent interview. “I was losing a lot of people to AIDS at that time. I was a bartender at Woody’s for about 25 years, and I was sort of at ground zero for this. In 1991, I went to a memorial service every single month.”
