Presented by Ensemble Arts Philly and the Shubert Organization, “SIX” is bringing its unique take on King Henry VIII’s six wives to Philadelphia with a story of reclamation, personal strength and queerness.

“SIX,” known for its use of the “divorced, beheaded, died, divorced, beheaded, survived” tagline and vibrant, modern style, will run from Sept. 30-Oct. 5 at the Academy of Music.

The concept of getting to tell one’s own story is at the core of “SIX,” which “switches up the flow” and “changes the prefix” for King Henry VIII’s six wives: Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anna of Cleves, Catherine Howard and Catherine Parr.
