Five people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on a main Birmingham road with two taken to hospital.

Emergency services were called to the collision on Hagley Road West in Quinton, near The Amber Tavern pub, this morning, Thursday, September 18.

Police, ambulance and fire crews were spotted at the scene shortly before 6am.

The crash involved a minivan and a lorry.

A man and a woman were treated by paramedics and taken to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Selly Oak .

Three more women suffered minor injurie and were discharged at the roadside.
