(Bismarck, ND) — Farmers are concerned about significant losses in this year’s soybean harvest amid ongoing U.S. trade disputes. China has reportedly halted its purchases of soybeans from the U.S. due to lingering tariffs. This has left North Dakota farmers concerned about what to do as soybean harvesting is just weeks away. The Office of the U.S. Trade Representative says China has historically been the largest buyer of North Dakota soybeans, with over 70-percent of the crop exported from the Peace Garden state before this year’s tariffs. Representative Julie Fedorchak believes the Big Beautiful Bill will offset any losses or concerns, while noting that state leaders are working on all fronts to improve the bottom line for farmers.
