KANSAS (KSNT) - Every third weekend in September, the Highway 36 Treasure Hunt organizes antique, estate and garage sales across 400 miles in north Kansas.

From Sept.18 to 20, communities from Elwood to St. Francis will be filled with local businesses selling everything from produce and baked goods to antiques and other vintage treasures. The treasure hunt is also a great way to experience historical sites and outdoor activities across northern Kansas.

Highway 36 spans from Colorado to Ohio, and it runs through 13 Kansas counties, including towns like Washington, Marysville and Seneca. The goal of the event is to promote business and tourism across the historic highway, as well as to cultivate thriving communities along the way.
