It hasn't taken long for Son Heung-min to settle in MLS.

The South Korean superstar netted his first MLS hat trick in just his sixth game with LAFC, helping his side to a comfortable 4-1 win at Real Salt Lake on Wednesday.

The former Tottenham forward had already bagged a brace within 16 minutes of the match at America First Field.

He scored a breakaway goal in the third minute, adding his second with a superb long-range effort just 13 minutes later.

Son sealed his treble in the 82nd minute when striker Denis Bouanga unselfishly squared the ball across the box for his teammate to finish into an open goal.

The hat trick took Son's tally to five goals in six matches with LAFC, which he joined in August from Tottenham for a reported MLS-record fee of $26 million.

In an ominous comment for the rest of the league, Son said after Wednesday's game that he felt he still had room for improvement as he adjusts to MLS.

"I think I'm still adapting [to] this league, but I think I still can play better than where I am at for sure," the 33-year-old said.

"I think it's a lot of communication with the players, and I think I have a very, very close relationship with everyone. It's been five weeks, six weeks, I would say, but everybody just welcomed me so well and been communicating a lot of things.

"Also off the pitch, I think it's very important culture-wise. There's still other things in this league and then still understanding players each other more, but I think it works really well at the moment."

The partnership between Son and star forward Bouanga appears to be growing by the week, which could make LAFC a tough out for any team in the postseason.

"I have a good partnership with Sonny," Bouanga, who also scored at RSL, said after the game.

"I think we're really complementary, and I already mentioned that. But the fact that he's here in the team now, it opens a lot of opportunities and space to do more things."
