HIGH POINT, N.C. — A man who is a person of interest in a missing woman’s case in Lexington is now accused of murder in Guilford County.
The Guilford County Sheriff’s Office says Ricky Lam, 40, has been charged with first-degree murder, concealment of death, and possession of a firearm by a felon in the death of Amber Marie Schimmelpfenning, 36.
Deputies say it started September 9 with a suspicious activity call on Blackberry Ridge Drive in High Point. After searching the area and conducting several interviews, deputies found a crime scene. Schimmelpfenning was last seen just after midnight that day. Detectives have not been able to find her, and her case quickly turned into a homicide investigation.
