A family-run waste management company is celebrating a major milestone after diverting over two million tonnes of construction waste from landfill. ‌

The recycled materials have been repurposed back into the construction industry, fuelling new building projects and saving 12,000 tonnes of CO2 from entering the atmosphere - the equivalent of approximately one million car journeys between Edinburgh and Glasgow. ‌

Livingston-based Brewster Brothers, which recycles construction waste into high-quality aggregate products, extracts the valuable materials from construction, demolition and excavation waste via its state-of-the-art recycling plant, using a wet-processing system. ‌
