A parent with an inoperable brain tumour has urged decision-makers to reject controversial cost-cutting proposals that would impact some of Renfrewshire's most vulnerable people. ‌

Helen McAleer has penned an open letter to the voting members of the integration joint board (IJB) – the body that oversees Renfrewshire Health and Social Care Partnership (HSCP) – ahead of Friday's meeting. ‌

It comes as eight individuals prepare to make a call on a series of measures that have been suggested to help close a multi-million-pound budget gap. ‌

Helen, whose daughter Amanda attends Milldale Day Opportunities at the On-X Linwood, has asked the IJB not to approve a redesign of the learning and physical disability day service model and review of respite provision.
