With Mobile’s mayoral runoff election days away, former mayor Sam Jones confirmed Thursday his endorsement of Barbara Drummond’s candidacy for the office he once held.

Jones, who took office after former mayor Mike Dow in 2005 and left office before current mayor Sandy Stimpson in 2013, said Thursday he first endorsed Drummond’s candidacy in radio advertisements aired on local Cumulus Media stations last week. Cumulus Media owns 97.5 WABD FM, 92.9 WBLX FM, 104.1 WDLT FM, 900 WGOK AM and 660 WXQW AM in Mobile.
