HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) - Daviess County pet owners will have a chance to get their four-legged friends microchipped for free.
The Daviess County Sheriff's Office posted to social media that animal control officers will be on hand to implant chips for cats and dogs next weekend at Yellow Creek Park Shelter #2.
The agency is encouraging owners to meet the staff, learn tips about responsible pet ownership and their role in protecting the community.
Officials state microchipping is the best way to find lost pets, and it only takes a few minutes to complete.
One must be a Daviess County resident, and a form of ID must be presented. The event is slated to take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on September 27.
