PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) -- It was the friendliest mosh pit ever.
Music blared, people bumped fists and cheered on students as they walked towards the entrance of Annie Jo Gordon Community Learning Center.
Rather than a way to greet people, it more resembled a block party. All that was missing was a grill and some hamburger patties.
But that's the point for the dozens of people who came to welcome the students. It's a way to say 'we appreciate you.'
Principal Fabian Daniels, who calls herself the "proud principal" of the school,
"It means the world to me," Daniels said. "But I think this is just the door being opened where people know that the invitation is always here."
