WASHINGTON (DC News Now ) -- A 16-year-old boy is facing a gun charge after a shooting in Southeast, D.C., left a teenager hurt last month.
The shooting broke out around 4 p.m. in the 2700 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue on Aug. 18.
According to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD), officers responded to the area around 4 p.m. after gunshots were reported. There, police found shell casings.
While on the scene, D.C. police were informed that a teen had arrived at the hospital with a gunshot wound.
Nearly a month later, on Sept. 16, MPD announced that a 16-year-old boy was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (gun) in connection with the case.
