CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A convicted felon was arrested after allegedly stealing a car with a toddler in the back seat near the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, according to arrest records.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said they found a white Hyundai Elantra that had been reported stolen, allegedly driven by Adarres Thompson, on Sept. 16. When he saw an officer in uniform, they said he put the car in reverse, turned in the road, and headed southbound on Cameron Boulevard before getting stuck in traffic.
Officers then wrote in their report that Thompson allegedly fought police while they were trying to arrest him. He was then said to have run off.
When searching the car, CMPD allegedly found a toddler, more than 8.5 pounds of marijuana, about 100 pills, a scale, 75 baggies, and
