DANIA BEACH, Fla. (WFLA) — The Human Society of Broward County is looking who a man who allegedly jumped into a kennel and stole a 10-week-old puppy.

The theft took place on Sept. 12, according to the Humane Society.

The shelter has released surveillance video from that day in which a man can be seen climbing into the kennel for a duration of time before climbing back out and exiting the building.

The Humane Society said that the man put the puppy, named Pebbles, into his backpack and fled on a bicycle.

Pebbles had recently returned to the shelter from a foster home, where they said she was receiving medical care for ringworm and parasites.

The puppy is microchipped, meaning that the shelter can track her but only if she is brought to a vet or a facility.
