The Mets could be without Reed Garrett during the postseason.

The right-handed reliever was placed on the 15-day injured list Thursday, retroactive to Sept. 15, with a right elbow sprain. The move comes only 11 days after he was activated off the IL. It’s the same injury that sent him to the injured list last month.

Last time around, the injury was considered mild, but now there is a possibility he could have to undergo Tommy John surgery, which would sideline him until 2027. Garrett and the Mets should have an answer soon, with imaging scheduled for Thursday.
